1. General or Public Law

A. International Law - governs the relations of nations and states.

B. Constitutional Law - governs the relations of the state and its subject

C. Administrative Law - governs the relations of the Government Officials and the employees of the Government

D. Criminal Law - defines what acts are criminal and provides corresponding penalties.

2. Individual or Private Law

A. Civil Law - regulates the relations of the individual, their rights and corresponding obligations to one another

B. Commercial or Mercantile Law – regulates the business relations of the individual, their rights and corresponding obligations arising therefrom

C. Labor Law - regulates the relations, rights and oligations of the employer and his employees

3. Procedural or Remedial Law

Criminal Procedure - remedial law which provide the procedure by which the violated rights of the state, denominated as crime is redressed by providing corresponding penalties for the violator or offender.

Civil Procedure - remedial law which provide the procedure by which the violated rights of an individual is redressed or by which the intended violation of right maybe prevented.
